Arizona Spanish Revival

Desiree's interior work is in progress. Photography of the finished rooms will come soon — this page will be updated with the full gallery upon completion.

The Architecture Before
Covered arched porch with rattan chairs and string lights — Arizona Spanish Revival
Dramatic arched black steel entry door with white stucco — Arizona Spanish Revival
Exterior street view of 1920s Spanish Revival home with terracotta tile roof — Arizona

The bones of this 1920s Spanish Revival speak for themselves — arched openings, terracotta tile, hand-troweled stucco, and an entry door that stops everyone who passes. Desiree was brought in to reimagine the interiors to match the extraordinary promise of the exterior.

Old warmth,
new life

Some homes arrive with a personality already fully formed. This 1920s Spanish Revival in Phoenix is one of them — all arched doorways, terracotta pavers, white stucco, and arched steel doors. The challenge wasn't to add character; it was to honor what was already there while bringing the interiors into a livable, layered present.

We are excited to translate the existing design cues into textiles, surfaces, and lighting that feel cohesive with the home. Interior photography is forthcoming for this project.

Design Approach

Letting the architecture lead

01
Palette
Drawing directly from the exterior — warm sand, aged terracotta, deep sage, and the dark iron of the metalwork — the palette will echo the architecture rather than compete with it.
02
Materials
Natural plaster, hand-thrown ceramics, woven textiles, and patinated metals will bring warmth and texture to each room — surfaces chosen for the way they age, growing more beautiful with time, just like the house itself.
03
Indoor · Outdoor
The covered porch, arched openings, and desert garden won't be separate from the interior — they'll be the starting point for it. The design will draw the outside in at every opportunity.
